Dr. Mary E. Streshly is a senior advisor and acting executive director at Oakland Military Institute College Prep Academy. An experienced educator, Dr. Mary E. Streshly is credited for having multiple professional, academic, and certifications. A strong supporter of the community, she is a member of the board of directors at the Bay Area Gardeners Scholarship Foundation (BAGSF).
Bay Area Gardeners Scholarship Foundation is a nonprofit established to offer financial assistance to eligible students from underprivileged backgrounds who cannot attain their dreams due to a lack of funds. BAGSF has a Strong Roots Mentorship program that helps to connect students with dedicated mentors to guide them in achieving their career goals.
Students are paired with a team of passionate, dedicated, and friendly mentors who are accomplished professionals in their respective fields. Through this association, beneficiaries can obtain counsel, friendship, and encouragement to help them realize their dreams. Strong Roots Mentorship program particularly targets students of color who face enormous challenges, such as a lack of sufficient knowledge about the U.S. higher education system. Thanks to the program, mentors have greatly improved the lives and welfare of their mentees.
